I am a third generation Real Estate Broker and I began my career working for a competing company that once employed my father. I initially volunteered as an assistant and buyer’s agent with a local top producer, for over a year. I believe wholeheartedly in the mentoring process, I did not want to just learn how to put together a few sales I wanted to learn how to be a great Realtor. My experiences in real estate under this agent ranged from: selling homes, to delivering flyers and digging sign posts. In addition to the time invested in working in real estate, I worked evenings driving a forklift for a year and a half for financial support. This was soon unnecessary as my sales began to rival my mentors: we then became partners and formed Leigh & Johnson Real Estate Marketing Group. As partners our sales had exceeded over $43,000,000 a year, and average over 30 million per year. The success of our partnership motivated us to purchase a Windermere franchise. I was now an owner of a franchise of the same company that employed my father.
I am very driven and goal-oriented. I compose a list every morning of the tasks I aim to complete by the end of the day. I set goals of being a designated broker by the age of 25 and to be the owner of a national franchise by the age of 30 – both were realized. I opened my own office with a supporting staff of more than 30 agents. Having met another goal, I soon realized that not every goal one sets is a wise choice. Franchise ownership had been a goal of mine, but not the desire of my heart.
I decided to resume my career in development and new sales and marketing to your families. This is the job I love! In 2014 I joined Keller Williams Tacoma, which is part of the largest real estate company in the world. They have allowed me to return to the world of selling and building relationships with my clients the place where I was called to be.

Get Pre-Approval

Before you start looking for a home to buy, it’s a good idea to meet with your Loan Officer to get pre-approved for a loan amount. At this stage, the lender gathers information about income, assets and debts of the borrower (you) to determine how much house you may be able to afford. This includes a credit report, W-2 forms, pay stubs, Federal Tax Returns and recent bank statements. There are a variety of different loan programs, so make sure to get pre-qualification for the specific programs that best suit your needs.

Application & Processing

What happens when a loan goes "live"

When you find property you’re ready to buy, your lender will help you complete a full mortgage loan application, and talk you through the various fees and down payment options. The application is submitted to processing, where the documents are reviewed and appraisals and title examination are ordered. Then the loan is sent to an underwriter, who reviews and approves the entire loan if it meets compliance.

Closing

Signing and Finalizing the deal

Don’t be surprised if you’re asked for additional documentation or clarification throughout the process. Once your loan is approved, don’t forget to set up homeowners insurance. Your documents will be sent to the title company, where you’ll sign for the new home and pay any remaining costs. Then the loan is recorded and you get the keys. Congratulations, happy homeowner!
